Yada Phillips

Founder & Chief Investigator

Yada is the founder and licensed private investigator behind PPIC, with 30 years of experience. She leads the firm’s criminal defense work and built its internship program to train the next generation of investigators.

“
Becoming an investigator was never my dream. I started out working in a law firm, and that is where I became an investigator. My first case was a 15-year-old girl who delivered her baby in a hospital, where we thought she had support. She was convicted, and that conviction made me mad. It taught me that the criminal justice system was not fair. I came to love criminal defense, and now I teach it.

Our approach

How we work with counsel

  1. 1
    Counsel brings us in
Defense attorneys and assigned counsel engage PPIC directly.
  2. 2
    We interview the client
We meet with the defendant to get a full account of what happened.
  3. 3
    We work the case
Witness interviews, records and documents, and subpoena service, guided by counsel.
  4. 4
    You get documented findings
Written reports give the defense team facts it can act on.
Our promise
We leave no stone unturned.

Every lead followed, every witness found, every record gathered, so counsel walks in with the full picture.
